Sevier County Commission ratifies contracts, approves agreements and appoints member to Drainage District No. 4
Summary
At its Feb. 23 meeting the Sevier County Commission approved routine actions: appointed Teresa Wright to Drainage District No. 4, declared surplus county property, ratified a UDOT bike-path contract, approved cooperative agreements with state forestry and the U.S. Forest Service, approved a piping agreement with Monroe Canal Company, and set a public hearing for March 23 on code amendments.
Sevier County Commissioners handled a slate of routine administrative actions and intergovernmental agreements at their Feb. 23 meeting, voting unanimously on each item.
The board approved minutes from its Feb. 9 meeting on a motion by Commissioner Ralph Brown, seconded by Commissioner Greg Jensen. Commissioners then appointed Teresa Wright to replace Richard Wasden on the Drainage District No. 4 Board after Commissioner Johnson reported Wasden's removal request; Commissioner Greg Jensen moved the appointment, Commissioner Brown seconded and the motion was unanimous.
Other items the board approved included declaring specified departmental property surplus and authorizing disposal; ratifying a previously signed Local Government Contract with the Utah Department of Transportation for the Aurora–Salina bike path (the county has worked with Jones & DeMille on rights-of-way); approving a Cooperative Agreement with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands for fire participation; approving a Piping and Conveyance Agreement with the Monroe Canal Company to pipe a canal north of Monroe; and ratifying the annual Cooperative Law Enforcement Agreement with the U.S. Forest Service for Fishlake National Forest patrols. Each of these motions was seconded and passed unanimously.
Commissioner Scott Johnson noted the Commission must set a public hearing to consider amendments to Sevier County Code Chapters 152 and 153 and the Design and Construction Standards; the board set that hearing for 1:45 p.m. on March 23, 2026, in the Commission Chambers.
The board adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
