Sevier County to buy two Flat Canyon parcels to improve access, flood-basin safety

Sevier County Commissioners voted unanimously on Dec. 22 to approve a property purchase agreement with Michael Ginsburg for two parcels in the Flat Canyon area to improve access and safety around county roads and flood basins.
Executive Director Malcolm Nash reviewed the proposal, saying the parcels — identified in county documents as parcels 4-305-5 and 4-295-4 — are generally used for flood basins that the county has helped maintain. Nash said acquiring the parcels would provide the county improved access and safer operations for county roads and adjacent properties.
Commissioner Greg Jensen moved to approve and ratify the purchase agreement and to proceed with the acquisition; Commissioner Ralph Brown seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. The commission did not identify any conditions or contingencies in the minutes.
County staff will complete the purchase steps required under county policy and record the transaction per standard closing procedures.
