Goober reported the Summer Reading Program drew 4,736 participants; the library issued 205 new library cards during the program and recorded 9,213 hours of reading logged by participants. She said 12 teen volunteers contributed 491 service hours over a two-month period. The Sheriff's Office, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Long County Fire Department participated in programming and provided support. Goober thanked the board for its continuing support of the library's services and outreach.
