The Fulton County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 30 voted to accept a State Interconnectivity Grant totaling $230,699.51 to support several NG911-related maintenance projects.
EMA/911 Director Brian Barton and HR Administrator Mary Huston briefed the board on the grant, which the minutes record as being earmarked for SouthCentral Mountain CAD maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain CHE maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain ESInet maintenance, Fulton NG911 GIS maintenance, a SouthCentral Mountain battery upgrade and Fulton ILEC maintenance. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute the grant agreement; the motion passed with the board recorded as "All in favor."
The commissioners also moved to hire Troy Wagaman as a per-diem 911 dispatcher, pending required background clearances; the Salary Board briefly met at 9:48 a.m. to set the new hire's salary. The minutes do not specify the hire's salary or the grant's match requirements or multi-year obligations.
