Centricom offers employee service day in Mona; company says local fiber build is largely complete

A Centricom representative told the Mona City Council the company wants to schedule an employee volunteer day in Mona in early or mid May to tackle park and city projects and to support local infrastructure needs.
"Each year, Centricom likes to come in with our employees and do a service project in one of our service areas," said Faye Lynn Warning (speaker 8). She described potential projects including cleaning a freeway off-ramp, sanding and painting ballfield dugouts and bleachers, tree trimming around the pavilion, and removing or modifying an old backstop to make space for a new pickleball court.
Warning said Centricom typically brings 25–50 volunteers and estimated tasks could keep about seven workers busy for roughly 45 minutes each; she asked the city to narrow project priorities and provide a materials list so Centricom can confirm equipment and timing. She also said Centricom's recent fiber build in the area is "all completed now for the most part" and that residents with existing service can switch to the new fiber service, usually under a one-year contract.
Council members discussed possible dates and agreed to coordinate internally, provide a project list and confirm any permit or irrigation needs. City staff and Centricom agreed to follow up by email to set a date and finalize the volunteer scope and materials.
