Cameron County commissioners approve application for DCED Strategic Management Planning Grant, adopt Resolution 2024‑6

The Cameron County Commissioners voted June 13 to apply for a Strategic Management Planning Grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and adopted Resolution #2024‑6 authorizing the action.

Commissioner Herzing said the grant would allow the county to hire a consultant to review the last four years of finances and management processes and provide recommendations tied to funding opportunities. "The great thing about this grant is that any recommendation comes with funding opportunities to implement through DCED," she said. Herzing also outlined outreach plans, including county visits to businesses this summer and a business resource summit scheduled for Aug. 27 at the courthouse.

Commissioner Moate moved to approve the application and the resolution; Commissioner Zucal seconded the motion. The minutes record the vote as "all in favor," and the motion carried.
