County logs small state and federal grant awards, transportation payments and an ACT 14 dam-removal notice

The county received a Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant notice from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency for federal fiscal years 2023–25, with an award of $2,400 for the Oct. 1, 2024–Sept. 30, 2025 performance period.
The meeting record lists state transportation allocations slated for December: a County Liquid Fuels payment of $9,430.15, an Act 89 allocation of $13,207.69 and an Act 44 allocation of $14,232.43.
Separately, commissioners were notified of an ACT 14 filing from Emporium Water Company describing a proposed project to remove a dam across Towner Run (a tributary to Driftwood Branch Sinnemahoning Creek). The notice says the project aims to return the creek to a free-flowing condition and restore approximately 400 feet of stream channel.
No formal action or funding commitments related to the ACT 14 notice were taken at the meeting.
