At its Feb. 10 meeting, the Board of Selectmen accepted several donations, approved committee appointments and adopted minutes from recent special and regular meetings.
Donations: The board voted 3-0 to accept with gratitude a $500.00 donation from Deborah and Mitch Chester to support the Woodbury Public Library Gala and Building Expansion; $700.00 from the Woodbury Hill Happy Hour Group to support library programs in honor of a local anniversary; and $400.00 from the Woodbury Hill Stitch and Bitch Group for library programs. The board also accepted $1,750 from the Friends of the Woodbury Senior/Community Center to support community programs.
Appointments and resignations: First Selectman Paul Zulpa read a resignation from Paul Luchetti from the ad hoc Library of the Future Committee. The board then appointed Jock Lawrason to the ad hoc Business & Economic Development Committee for a term ending Nov. 30, 2027, following a short endorsement from BEDC Chair Mike Giordano; the motion carried 3-0.
Minutes and procedural items: The board approved minutes for special meetings on Jan. 24, Jan. 31 and Feb. 6, a special meeting on Feb. 9 and the regular meeting of Jan. 27; each minutes motion carried 3-0. There were no bid awards and no transfers reported. Selectman Richard Coates moved to adjourn; the meeting ended at 8:25 p.m.
What’s next: The accepted donations will be used as designated by the donors and the town will follow up with the appointee and the relevant committee to process the appointment.
