Scotland recreational committee outlines 2025 events, seeks gym access for yoga

The Scotland Recreational Committee met Oct. 14 at the Scotland Grange and sketched plans for community events in 2025, including a yoga class, a Clean Up Day and coordination with the fire department on Halloween activities.
The committee recorded that Monica Lindsay reached out to the Scotland Elementary School to explore using the gym for a yoga program. Members discussed a Clean Up Day; organizers plan to prepare kits to hand out at town hall during early voting and allow participants to pick up supplies and discard debris on their own schedules. Ann DeFeo was asked to look into ordering about 40 packs of 10 bulbs for the kits.
The minutes note there are no committee members available this year to help run a Halloween event with the fire department. The committee did not adopt a formal budget or timeline for the events at the meeting.
The committee approved prior meeting minutes and scheduled its next meeting for Dec. 9, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Grange.
