Benton County approves memorandum of understanding with Industrial Board

Benton County Commissioners on Feb. 18 authorized County Mayor Mark Ward to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Benton County Industrial Board to support cooperative economic development activities.
The resolution (20250218-05) described the Industrial Board and Economic Development Director Jennifer Wheatley as partners in county economic growth and said a copy of the proposed MOU was provided to commissioners for review. On a roll call vote the commission approved the mayor’s request 13 Ayes, 0 No, 5 Absent.
The MOU is intended to memorialize commitments to funding and cooperation that county leaders say will further local economic interests; the resolution did not list dollar amounts in the minutes. Mayor Ward was authorized to execute the memorandum on behalf of Benton County.
Commissioners moved to additional agenda items after the vote.
