Trees Lake Master Plan design funded; construction slated to begin March 2026

Parks staff reported on Nov. 12 that funding for the Trees Lake Master Plan has been approved and the project is entering phase one, the design phase. Jeremy Gervais said cameras for the site have been ordered and that construction is planned to begin in March 2026. He characterized the plan as a five-year program that is dependent on continued funding in future cycles.
Commissioners were told that the initial work will focus on lower walking paths, signage and seating. Gervais cautioned that later phases rely on capital outlay and other funds, which the city cannot fully commit to until outstanding audits are completed and funding streams are confirmed.
The commission received the update as part of its new-business reports; no formal vote or public comment occurred on Trees Lake during the meeting.
