Hackettstown board authorizes capital-reserve projects and awards job-coaching contract

At the Nov. 12 meeting the Hackettstown Board of Education authorized the use of capital reserve funds for three projects: installation of a wheelchair lift at Hatchery Hill (estimated, not to exceed $30,000); a high school parking-lot junior/senior pass-through (not to exceed $15,000); and door latch replacement at Hatchery Hill and Willow Grove (not to exceed $15,000). Business Administrator James Schlessinger presented the estimated amounts; each project was authorized with a not-to-exceed figure.
Separately, the board awarded Request for Proposal 25-01 for job-coaching services to ALL IN for Inclusive Education of Little Falls, N.J., for the period beginning on or about Dec. 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 at a cost not to exceed $30,000. The board authorized the Business Administrator/Board Secretary to execute the contract and related documents.
The board also approved the submission of an application for a New Jersey Department of Health clinical laboratory license for onsite testing and approved several service contracts tied to special-education placements and athletics memoranda of agreement.
