Hackettstown board approves multiple personnel actions including new hires and co-curricular appointments

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — At its Sept. 10 meeting the Hackettstown Board of Education approved a broad personnel package for the 2025–26 school year, covering resignations, new hires, co-curricular and athletic appointments, mentors, substitutes and contract-dependent regional appointments.

The board accepted resignations and approved revised district staff listings and new staff appointments as submitted by Superintendent Debra Grigoletti. The board also rescinded the 8th-grade advisor assignments at the middle school and approved replacements and additional co-curricular assignments and athletic volunteer appointments for the school year.

Other approvals included advancement on the salary guide effective Sept. 1, 2025, the appointment of additional instructional technology coordinators, approval of mentors and mentees, and authorization of clinical internships, externships and student observations as listed in the agenda packet. The board approved the appointment of annual substitutes and several additional appointments through the Essex Regional Educational Services Commission pending funding allocations.

The minutes show personnel motions were accepted by Dr. Bo Soobryan and Mr. Robert Moore and carried in a roll-call vote; the meeting record indicates unanimous support for the personnel slate.

What happens next: Appointments that are contingent on funding or pending approvals (for example, ER E RESC placements) will proceed when funding is confirmed; human resources will complete new-hire onboarding and required background checks.
