The Brooksville City Council voted 4-0 to approve a professional services agreement with Pro Civil 360 for surveying services on the North Avenue sidewalk project.
Richard Weeks, director for the city (S7), told the council the $44,890 contract will produce certified survey data covering roughly 3,900 linear feet along the corridor and is intended to establish accurate base mapping to support future design work and position the project for metropolitan planning organization (MPO) funding. "This is strictly a surveying contract. No design or construction is included in this agreement," Weeks said.
Councilman Hallow (S4) moved to accept the bid; McKeithen (S5) seconded. Mayor (S1) called the vote and the motion carried 4-0. Weeks said the funding for the survey was allocated in the approved streets and drainage capital improvement budget.
The council and staff described the contract as an early, necessary step for a larger, more complex project that will require later design approvals, property coordination and MPO prioritization. Weeks said the certified survey will enable the city to move the project up the list for MPO funding and subsequent design phases.
The council did not discuss specific construction timelines or contractor installation in tonight's vote; the motion covered only the surveying services agreement.
