Love Inc. client‑services director Megan Starnes presented an update on local asset mapping and asked council to waive the O'Galley Civic Center rental fee for a volunteer expo planned April 16–17 to connect volunteers (including seasonal snowbirds) with nonprofit service providers. Starnes said the collaborative meetings include nonprofits, agencies and municipalities and that the expo would help fill volunteer gaps for homelessness, affordable housing and workforce development subcommittees.
Councilmembers expressed support, noted prior examples of fee waivers for nonprofit events and asked staff to confirm logistics and any budget implications. City staff said they have waived similar fees in the past and indicated consensus to waive the fee for this event.
Next steps: staff will process the fee waiver and confirm dates and arrangements with Love Inc.
