The Dixon County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously March 10 to sell a small parcel of county land for an American Legion memorial following a brief public hearing that drew no attendees.
The hearing opened at 9:15 a.m. and closed at 9:18 a.m. The board approved a motion by Supervisor Terry Nicholson, seconded by Supervisor Roger Peterson, to sell a portion of Lot Fifteen in the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 22, Township 30 North, Range 6 East of the Sixth Principal Meridian; the clerk will advertise the legal description and related sale information.
Chair Lisa Lunz said the board had given public notice of the hearing and the sale. County Attorney Leland Miner, who was present for legal matters, told supervisors he would assist with any statutory or procedural research needed for the disposition.
No members of the public spoke at the hearing. The board’s action was procedural: approving the sale and authorizing publication of the legal description so interested parties can review the exact plot being transferred. The county clerk’s office will hold the official legal description and sale notice.
