Board amends FY25‑26 budget to use outcomes funding for employee bonuses and early learning center needs

The Tullahoma City Schools Board approved an amendment to the FY25‑26 budget to incorporate $335,570 in outcomes funding and associated expenditures.
Finance staff reported the district received $335,570 in outcomes funding based on student performance on last year's TCAP and EOC results. At a special call meeting on Dec. 15 the board approved a holiday bonus for eligible employees and directed staff to fund that bonus from the outcomes funds. Finance reported the total cost of the bonus package, including salary and payroll costs such as Medicare, Social Security and retirement, was $199,067.
The proposed budget amendment adds the $335,570 outcome funding on the revenue side and includes these expense changes: $199,067 related to the employee bonus (salary and payroll costs); $61,503 in contracted services for the Early Learning Center to support opening tasks; and $75,000 allocated to Little Cats for furniture, supplies and relocation needs.
After finance committee review staff recommended approval of the amended budget. A motion by Teresa Lawson, seconded by Andy Witt, carried and the board approved the amendment by voice/hand vote. The superintendent noted the amended budget will be transmitted to the city.
