Tullahoma schools celebrate state health awards and send students to state tournaments

The Tullahoma City Schools board used its March 10 meeting to recognize student accomplishments and statewide honors earned by district staff and schools.
Superintendent Catrine Stevens highlighted that Tullahoma had a strong presence at the Coordinated School Health Institute conference, noting district finalists and winners across categories. She called out Robert E. Lee for being named an "America's Healthiest School" for the second year and praised staff members who were recognized: Gina Bumbleo (school health champion), Macy Honey (physical educator of the year) and Beth Hill (health education finalist, who serves as a school nurse). "Tullahoma City Schools is a shining star in this work," Stevens said, urging board members and the community to share the Tennessee Department of Education’s video that features the district.
The board also celebrated athletic achievements, including the Tullahoma High School boys bowling team’s undefeated regular season and its advancement to the TSSAA state tournament; coaches Derek Swiger and Matthew Pilkington and student athletes were invited forward for certificates and photos. Superintendent Stevens previewed upcoming fine-arts events and thanked law enforcement partners for supporting school performances.
Board members praised the district’s coordination of school health and extracurricular programs and reminded the community of spring break dates and the next board meeting.
