Fulton County commissioners on March 17 approved three facilities contracts to replace HVAC equipment and improve acoustics in county offices.
Building and Maintenance Director Brad Seville presented quotes and said the county has experienced ongoing maintenance needs, including issues with the maintenance truck. Commissioners voted to accept a Shearer Plumbing and Heating quote of $18,460 for a 3.5‑ton Lennox heat pump (inside and outside units, line set, outdoor pad, Honeywell thermostat and associated installation), to be coordinated with Fulton County Family Partnership. The board also approved a Shearer Plumbing and Heating quote of $24,434 for a commercial boiler replacement (including tear‑down and removal of the old boiler) and an American Micro Industries Custom Components quote of $2,188 for acoustic panels for the Main Conference Room and business office. All motions passed unanimously.
Commissioners indicated the purchases respond to equipment needs and to improve county workspace function. Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed was in attendance for the facilities discussion and procurement details. The county did not specify funding sources beyond the motion records.
The board voted to move forward with the purchases immediately; no amendments or alternatives were recorded. The county will work with Fulton County Family Partnership to assist with the heat pump purchase as noted in the motion.
