The Board of Public Works voted unanimously Jan. 20 to approve three construction contract change orders: two for the 2025 Carroll Park improvements and one for the King Street Greenway construction.
Director Gallagher told the board there are three change orders attached to the agenda: change orders 2 and 3 for Carroll Park improvements and change order 1 for the King Street Greenway. Council President Dickinson asked for an update on Carroll Park and a project representative replied that the building is up and mostly enclosed, that workers were installing windows that week, and that additional work reflected bringing a prefabricated building up to code on top of a landfill.
Director Trane moved approval; Director Gallagher seconded. The motion passed unanimously. The project representative noted the prefabricated nature of the building and site-specific adjustments tied to the landfill substrate as the reason for the change orders.
