The La Crosse Board of Park Commissioners unanimously approved the department’s five-year capital equipment request list on Jan. 15, with staff highlighting an aerial lift truck requested for 2027 at a cost of $315,000.
A staff presenter said the aerial lift truck is used primarily for forestry work but can also serve other city departments, and noted the department already owns an older 2010 lift that is reaching the end of its service life. "The aerial lift truck is primarily used for forestry work," the presenter said, noting safety improvements and updated equipment needs.
Commissioner Kirsch pointed out an attachment discrepancy in the agenda packet that listed an incorrect $2.80 figure; staff confirmed the updated attachment shows the formal request of $315,000 for 2027. Commissioners also discussed a $75,000 high-capacity lawnmower and requests for turf equipment used in park spaces.
Tracy Littlejohn moved to approve the 2027 capital equipment purchase plan and following years; Commissioner Olsen seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Staff said items will proceed through the remaining budget and purchasing approvals required for allocation and procurement.
