Danbury Board of Awards approves routine contract renewals and IT service agreements

The board also approved awards and purchase orders for materials and maintenance including precast concrete modular wall materials ($110,700 to United Concrete Products), refrigerant ($15,276 to Perfect Resource Group) and a Barnum Road retaining wall requisition estimated at $279,983 (award to Hemlock Construction, contingent on agreement).
On technology, the board approved amendments and change orders to the city's master agreement with Computer Integrated Services (CIS). The IT support amendment carries a proposed cost of $13,900 per month ($166,800/year) to continue support of the server farm and firewall stack. The board also approved a secure cloud hosting change order (Edge 400) at $5,995 per month ($71,940/year) and a network services change order estimated at $99/hour for an estimated 1,050 hours (about $103,950), to support network separation and upgrades at city public-safety facilities.
Frank Gentile, the city's director of technology services, described the CIS technician team's capabilities and praised an on-staff VMware expert by name: "Hector Alvarez...is probably one of the best VMware engineers that I know," he said, noting the vendor team provides critical day-to-day and emergency support.
