At its Sept. 22 meeting, the Town of Scotland Planning & Zoning Commission appointed Jonathan Blake, AICP, CZEO, as the interim Zoning Enforcement Officer for Scotland; Blake said he works full‑time for the Town of Killingly and will serve in Scotland until a permanent replacement is found. The nomination was approved by motion of R. Manning with a second from H. Bowers; the motion carried.
During Citizens’ Participation, Second Selectman M. Gurnack requested approval to replace the existing sign at the Safety Complex on Brook Road with a dimmable electronic sign (2' x 4' x 7') capable of seven rows of text to display town events such as blood drives, school events and meetings. The Commission approved the sign (motion by R. Manning, second by J. Troeger; motion carries).
