The motions were recorded in the minutes as follows: Clark Stearns moved to set the PreK tuition rate at $7,500, seconded by Brittany Santiago; the motion carried unanimously. Earlier, the board approved the financial report on a motion from Clark Stearns seconded by Brittany Santiago; the minutes record the financial report motion as carried unanimously and list an anticipated surplus of $44,098, with some invoices still outstanding.
Board discussion during the financial report focused on several overbudget items. Clark Stearns asked administrators about account 53020 (legal services), which the minutes say was over budget largely in connection with a teachers’ contract and mediation, account 53400 (business office services, including Paychex), and higher-than-expected oil costs tied to a broken sprinkler incident and an extra delivery. Finance Coordinator Michele Demicco presented the year-end numbers and the board moved to accept the report.
The meeting also recorded procedural votes: a motion to approve the June 3, 2025 regular meeting minutes was made by Clark Stearns and seconded by Beth Troeger; the minutes state that motion carried with an abstention recorded for Clark Stearns. The board later carried a motion to adjourn at 7:21 p.m., moved by Brittany Santiago and seconded by Clark Stearns.
The board indicated it will continue policy work at the August meeting and confirmed the next regular meeting for Aug. 5, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
