Danbury Board of Awards approves routine procurement awards and a tax-contract extension

Purchasing Agent Jake Volpe presented the first request: an annual ammunition purchase for the police department from Eagle Point Gun under the State of Connecticut contract at a quoted total of $79,620. The board moved to approve the purchase order and carried the motion unanimously.
Other approvals included:
- Motorola APX mobile and portable radio firmware upgrades and preventive maintenance, awarded to Northeastern Communications for $17,373.13 after competitive outreach showed higher or no quotes from other vendors.
- Four Bullard DXT thermal imagers and accessories for the fire department through FireTech for $26,522.72, awarded under the manufacturer's state contract.
- A Telecare scheduling and messaging system for the library from Advanced Telesystems (PEPPM cooperative contract) at $16,978.21, approved contingent on mayoral office sign-off.
- A one-year extension (with two additional one-year options at the city's discretion) to the TaxServ collection services agreement, amending the contract to extend through April 1, 2026.
- A John Deere compact utility tractor with backhoe and pallet fork attachments from United Ag & Turf for $55,965.81 under a cooperative contract.
- Engineering services for parcels at 33 East Franklin Street and 7280 Maple Street, awarded to WSP for an estimated $200,000 under the city's on-call contract.
Each of those items was introduced by staff, moved, seconded, and approved by the board without recorded opposition. Where noted in the record, vendors were recommended based on state or cooperative contract status or because they were the manufacturer's authorized dealer in Connecticut.
The board concluded with a procedural adjournment. The action items above were recorded as motions and carried unanimously.
