The Danbury City Board of Awards approved contracts to four firms to provide on-call architectural services.
Purchasing agent Chip Volpe told the board the city issued a request for qualifications and received submissions from 10 firms. A city selection committee that included engineering and public works staff recommended awarding on-call architect services to Silver Petrocelli & Associates; Prior Architecture; The Arc Design Group; and Polar & D'Angelo, based on their qualifications. A board member moved to award the four firms contingent on executed contracts; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
Why this matters: On-call architectural contracts give the city a prequalified pool of firms that staff can call on for design and construction support without running a separate procurement for every small project. The award formalizes that pool for the near term and authorizes staff to execute the underlying contracts.
Board action: The motion to award the four firms was approved; staff were authorized to finalize contracts and related documentation.
