Foster spoke during the public comment portion of the meeting; the council did not vote on any items related to the shelter during the session. Other public commenters that evening raised street maintenance concerns and thanked the city for neighborhood pothole repairs; Luna Star Dance Studio presented certificates of appreciation to council members for use of Morgan Hall.
Foster said the organization will hold a fall fundraiser (Festival of Trees) and encouraged residents to contribute time and supplies. No new city funding for the shelter was proposed or approved during the meeting.
