Calhoun County ISD reviews Lone Star Governance goals; recognizes high-performing campus and National Board teacher

Trustees reviewed Lone Star Governance materials and approved Goal 4 and 5 and related measures; Port O’Connor Elementary was recognized for an “A” STAAR rating and Calhoun High teacher Rianna Graydon was honored for National Board Certification.
At the Dec. 15 meeting trustees reviewed Lone Star Governance agenda items and approved several governance measures and evaluations.
Presenters from Travis Middle School—Principal Ryan Abraham, Math Instructional Coach Amanda Nessa and Assistant Principal Adrianna Whitwell—reviewed district Goal Progress Measures for middle school Math and ELA. Lisa Moya with Region 3 assisted with the superintendent—s constraint measures and a quarterly board evaluation. The board voted 7-0 to approve Goal 4 and 5 and the listed GPMs and SCPMs, as well as the board quarter 2 self-evaluation.
The board also recognized Port O’Connor Elementary School for earning an “A” STAAR rating in Texas and honored Calhoun High School teacher Rianna Graydon for completing National Board Certification. The board recessed at 7:01 p.m. for a meal provided by the Port O—Connor PTA and later returned to complete business.
