Jeff Plashert, identified in the transcript as the golf-course staff member, defended the term, saying a longer lease helps spread costs. "As I think everybody in this room knows, nothing's getting cheaper," Plashert said, and he added the proposed agreement would include eight additional carts to reduce wear on the existing fleet: "We're also getting 8 additional carts with this lease... that'll actually help on the wear and tear of the vehicles." He told the committee that adding more carts during the six-year term would be an option if needed but noted practical parking limits beyond 48 carts.
The committee chair, Tom, called for the vote after questions and discussion; the lease was approved by voice vote, 5-0. No amendments or further conditions were recorded in the meeting transcript.
The committee moved on to the next agenda item after approving the lease.
