The Fredericksburg Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Dec. 8 to appoint Dr. Ann Dixon as interim superintendent effective Jan. 1, 2026, contingent on a negotiated employment agreement.
The board convened a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. and entered closed session at 5:31 p.m. under Texas Government Code Sections 551.074 and 551.071 to discuss the superintendent transition, including the hiring process, interim leadership and consultation with legal counsel, with Board President Matt Seidenberger listed as the presenter. The board reconvened in open session at 9:51 p.m.
Trustee Keri Hensley moved to name Dr. Ann Dixon interim superintendent, adding that the appointment was contingent upon successful negotiation of an agreement between Dr. Dixon and Fredericksburg ISD; Trustee Taylor Ward seconded the motion. The motion passed with a recorded vote of 7-0. The motion also authorized the board president and the district’s legal counsel to negotiate and finalize the agreement on the board’s behalf.
The appointment is scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2026, but will only be finalized if the parties reach mutually acceptable terms during the negotiated agreement. The board did not provide the terms of the agreement during open session. The meeting adjourned at 9:52 p.m.
