Fort Stockton ISD honors students of the month and teachers of the quarter

At its Jan. 29 meeting the Fort Stockton ISD Board recognized Students of the Month from each campus and Teachers of the Quarter. The board also noted athletic achievements including a college signing and a state qualifier.
The Fort Stockton Independent School District Board of Education recognized students and staff from across the district at its Jan. 29, 2025 meeting.
Students of the Month named were: Alamo — Hudson Slusher (recognized by Sylvia Bernal and Karina Pacheco); Apache — Andric Lopez (recognized by Roxanne Espino and Crystal Payne); Intermediate — Joe Espino (recognized by Julian Castillo and Shannon O’Tierney); Middle School — Alianah Contreras (recognized by Stacey Jones); High School — Brenna Downing (recognized by Sammy Soliz, Gabe Espino and Tatiana Vidal).
Teachers of the Quarter were recognized as: Alamo — Pamela Maloney (recognized by Sylvia Bernal and Karina Pacheco); Apache — Yvonne Simons (recognized by Roxanne Espino and Crystal Payne); Intermediate — Sandra Garcia (recognized by Julian Castillo and Shannon O’Tierney); Middle School — Enrique Saenz (recognized by Stacey Jones); High School — Keitha Bowman (recognized by Sammy Soliz, Gabe Espino and Tatiana Vidal).
Athletics updates included a college signing for Gerry Diaz and recognition of Javier Hignojos as a state swimming/diving qualifier. Superintendent Gil Rey Madrid acknowledged the board in honor of Board Appreciation Month and read a gubernatorial proclamation celebrating the board’s service.
