DeSpain also told trustees that heavy construction on a nearby bridge has disrupted vehicular and bus traffic; he said the district and principals will provide some grace for students arriving late while construction reduces or shifts lane capacity. "We're giving a little bit of grace, especially on the front end of the day," DeSpain said, adding that the project could last 10 to 12 months and will be done in phases.
Assistant Superintendent Andy Masek confirmed contractors have installed concrete barriers and that traffic management remains a district and first-responder coordination issue.
