Giddings ISD awarded $653,000 LASO/LIFT grant to support curriculum and PLC work

Assistant Superintendent Shane Holman told the board the district was awarded LASO/LIFT grant funding totaling $653,000 over three years. The grant will fund leadership and instructional foundations work and school improvement/PLC support to implement the Bluebonnet curriculum across campuses.
Holman said the district will contract with a service provider (the region service center was mentioned as the likely partner) to perform a needs assessment and guide a phased, three‑year implementation plan beginning at elementary grades and expanding to intermediate and middle school campuses. The grant supports staffing, professional development and curriculum facilitation rather than direct staff hires, Holman said.
Holman also reminded trustees of required DOI committee steps if the board chooses to revise the grievance policy through the District of Innovation process: convene a committee, post the plan for 30 days for public comment, notify TEA and then vote to adopt any changes.
