Giddings, Texas — At a special meeting on Oct. 6, 2025, the Giddings ISD Board of Trustees approved submitting Spencer Schneider as the district’s nominee to the Lee Central Appraisal District Board of Directors. Trustee Adam Awad moved to approve the nomination and Trustee Pat Jackson seconded; the motion passed 4-0 with three trustees absent.
The action came during a brief meeting called to order by Jason Locke, who established a quorum at 5:30 p.m. No members of the public spoke during the community input period. After the nomination vote, the board discussed a potential nominee to the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors but took no formal action on that item.
The meeting agenda referenced closed-session authority under the Texas Government Code, Sections 551.072 and 551.074, but no closed session occurred and the board recorded no closed-session actions. The meeting adjourned at 5:34 p.m. following a motion by Trustee Roy Kruemcke and second by Trustee Adam Awad that passed 4-0.
A resolution text included with the meeting materials cites the Texas Property Tax Code, Section 6.03, as the statutory basis for nominating representatives to the appraisal district board and lists Spencer Schneider as the district’s candidate. The transcript copy of that resolution shows typesetting and date irregularities; the board’s vote and the accompanying minutes identify Spencer Schneider as the nominee.
