Giddings ISD board approves facility and operations purchases, including used bus and budget amendment

Trustee Spencer Schneider moved to accept the Alpha Omega Glass bid to replace metal doors at GIS; Trustee Martin Rangel seconded the motion, which passed with six yeas and one absence recorded (Adam Awad). Trustee Martin Rangel moved to approve the purchase of two new washers for GISD athletics; Trustee Pat Jackson seconded and the motion passed.
On transportation, Trustee Roy Kruemcke moved to purchase a used bus for the district fleet; Trustee Heather Garner seconded the motion and it passed. The board later approved a related budget amendment to allocate $60,000 from fund balance to purchase the bus; the budget amendment was moved by Trustee Spencer Schneider and seconded by Trustee Heather Garner and was recorded as approved.
Chief Financial Officer Angie Bloodworth provided the budget amendment detail in the board packet: funds were reallocated from Fund Balance (account 199-00-3700-00-000-600000) to Bus, District (199-34-6631-00-806-699000) in the amount of $60,000.
All of the operational items were recorded in the minutes as passing by votes of six yeas, zero nays and one absence. The meeting minutes list the approving votes by name for each motion.
