Oneida County reports $7.26 million in 2025 sales tax receipts; investment return 5.02%

At the Feb. 25 meeting of the Oneida County Executive Committee, Finance Director Tina Smigielski presented budget-to-actual materials and reported that total sales tax receipts for 2025 were $7.26 million. Smigielski also presented the county’s 2025 Investment Report, which she said showed a 5.02% rate of return for the year.
Smigielski reviewed the packet’s Insurance Fund balances and a GASB report concerning retiree health insurance and noted discussion of paid-time-off balances. Human Resource Director Jenni Lueneburg reported LRES is actively recruiting for the Highway Commissioner position and discussed turnover and retention. IT Director Jason Rhodes gave a planning update, described grants the department is pursuing and noted recent staff changes. Treasurer Tara Ostermann and County Clerk Tracy Hartman confirmed their budget-to-actual reports are included in the meeting packet.
No public comment was offered. The Committee set future meeting dates for March 11 and March 25, 2026, and adjourned at 10:01 a.m.
