The Llano ISD Board of Trustees on Nov. 17 approved a series of administrative and financial measures, including a budget amendment the district says will cover employee retention stipends.
CFO Ryan Turner presented a proposed General Fund budget amendment that increases total expenses by $722,275 to cover an employee retention stipend; the proposed revised budget lists a total expenses number of $53,881,795. The consent agenda that included the proposed budget amendment and prior meeting minutes was approved unanimously.
The board also approved the district’s fiscal-year 2025–26 budget calendar, voted to approve campus improvement plans, and adopted a resolution approving the annual review of investment policy and investment strategies with no changes recommended to Policy CDA (Legal) or CDA (Local). Turner told trustees state law requires the annual review.
In an administrative resolution tied to HB 3033 (88th Texas Legislature), the board designated additional district non-business days for 2026 so staff responses to Public Information Act requests align with the instructional calendar; Exhibit A attached to the resolution lists specific dates. The board appointed Roland Rode and Johnny Sawyer as Llano ISD representatives to the Llano Central Appraisal District Board of Directors for two-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
Other actions included authorizing the superintendent to hire professional staff for open positions from Nov. 18, 2025 through Jan. 26, 2026, approving a list of books posted on the district website for at least 30 days, and scheduling the next regular meeting for Jan. 26, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.
All motions recorded in the minutes for these items show unanimous support where roll-call votes were recorded.
