Commission approves rezoning of 278-acre Providence Canyon Ranch to PUD for resort/camp

The Stewart County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved on Dec. 10 a request to rezone 278 acres owned by Providence Canyon Ranch LLC (Parcel #027 007 in Lumpkin) from A-1 (General Agricultural and Forestry) to PUD (Planned Unit Development), allowing use as a resort/camp.
The County Attorney, Bin Minter, told the board that the Planning & Zoning Board had held a duly noticed hearing on Nov. 25 and recommended approval. An applicant representative presented the proposal; Commissioner Joe Lee Williams moved to approve the rezoning and Commissioner Tyrone Nelson seconded. The motion carried with all commissioners voting in favor.
The rezoning record in the minutes notes the parcel number and total acreage.
