Chairwoman Arcola Scott moved to approve Oxford Construction's bid; Vice-Chair Thomas Mayo seconded and all commissioners voted in favor. The commission also voted to use the $68,737.10 2025 LMIG surplus and an estimated $22,000 in additional funds to add rock to other segments of Moore's Store Road.
The actions finalize contractor selection and immediate supplemental work to stabilize remaining roadway sections. Commissioner Joe Lee Williams and county staff previously identified Moore's Store Road as a priority under the 2025 LMIG allocation. The board did not record any dissenting votes or conditions attached to the contract award.
The county will proceed with contracting and scheduling with Oxford Construction. County staff did not provide a detailed timetable for when the rock addition work will start.
No public comment concerning Moore's Store Road was recorded at the meeting. The board adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
