Stewart County approves septic contract for EMS center, green-lights LMIG striping project

The Stewart County Board of Commissioners on May 6 accepted a bid to install a septic system at the county EMS center and approved a county road striping and signage project funded through the 2024 LMIG program.
At a Called Meeting that convened at 4:15 p.m., Vice Chair Thomas Mayo moved to accept Dixon Environmental’s bid of $89,077.50 to install the EMS center septic system; Commissioner Tyrone Nelson seconded the motion, and all voted in favor. The board recorded the award as an accepted bid and carried the motion.
Commissioner Joe Lee Williams then moved that the county proceed with the 2024 LMIG Safety Project to provide signage and striping on Moores Store Road, Valley Road, North Hospital Road, Sardis Road, Trotman Road, Ponder Road, County Line Road, CCA Road and Green Grove Road. Chairwoman Arcola Scott seconded the motion and all members voted in favor.
The board completed the short Called Meeting, adjourning at 4:22 p.m. The minutes note no additional discussion or public comment on the two items.
