The North Haledon Borough Council voted unanimously June 18 to adopt Ordinance #7-2025, an amendment to the borough’s previously passed 2025 bond ordinance to authorize purchase of a fire command vehicle.
The amendment revises Section 3(e) of Bond Ordinance 2025-05 to list “Fire: Purchase of a fire command vehicle for the Fire Department” with a total appropriation of $100,000, debt authorization of $95,000, a down payment of $5,000 and a useful life of 10 years. The ordinance retains all other provisions of the original ordinance.
Council Member George Pomianek moved to pass the ordinance on its second and final reading; Council Member Rocco Luisi seconded. After the clerk opened the public comment period and no members of the public spoke, the council approved the ordinance by unanimous roll-call vote. The bond ordinance will take effect 20 days after its first publication following final adoption, as provided by the Local Bond Law.
The amendment follows the adoption earlier in April of Bond Ordinance 2025-05, which appropriated $1,823,406 for various 2025 capital acquisitions and improvements and authorized $1,472,500 of bonds or notes, including a New Jersey Department of Transportation grant noted in that ordinance. The council did not discuss financing details further at the June 18 meeting.
The ordinance was read by title and formally adopted; the clerk will publish the required notice and handle the administrative steps to effect the amendment.
