Council OKs first reading of ordinance limiting trucks over 4 tons on several North Haledon streets

The Borough introduced Ordinance #12-2025 on first reading at its Aug. 20 meeting to amend Chapter 169 (Vehicles and Traffic) and bar trucks over four tons from several local streets.
The ordinance lists affected streets by name and applies the restriction to the "entire length" of each listed roadway: Highland Road; Linda Vista Avenue; Manchester Avenue; Nassau Street; Rothesay Avenue; Terrace Avenue; and West Overlook Avenue. Council Member Donna Puglisi moved to introduce the ordinance on first reading; Council Member Bruce O. Iacobelli seconded and the motion carried. Final passage is scheduled for Sept. 17, 2025 at 7:30 p.m., when the public may comment.
If adopted at final reading the ordinance will take effect immediately upon publication as provided by law. The minutes record no separate public comment or debate on the ordinance during the Aug. 20 session.
