During the Jan. 13 meeting Wes Park, Marlboro County Finance Director, reported on the county’s six‑month financial position: general fund revenue for the six months ending Dec. 31, 2025 was $4,845,701 compared with $4,689,470 for the same period in 2024. Park reported general fund expenditures for the month ended Dec. 31, 2025 totaled $7,938,842 of a $16,442,894 budget (48.13% of budget year to date); he noted expenditures were slightly lower than the prior year and concluded the budget is on target.
County Administrator Wilson A. Clyburn reviewed upcoming community events and recreation items: a Small Business Network and Resource Forum on Jan. 22, 2026 (SCSU‑sponsored, 10 a.m. at the Aquatic Center), construction crew mobilization for an approved project, posted full basketball schedules, and upcoming baseball/softball and track signups. Clyburn noted approvals from the city, DHEC and DOT for the forum event.
