Gress told the commissioners she has worked since her teenage years in a variety of roles, including positions at the Fulton County Newspaper and as a realtor, and that she serves on the board of the Fulton County Medical Center. Commissioners thanked Gress for her years of service and for coming in early to ease transition planning.
The board did not record a public discussion of succession planning or name a replacement at the March 3 meeting. The retirement acceptance was part of a consent of motions that included other routine personnel and financial approvals. The county will follow its normal hiring and transition procedures for the Domestic Relations Director position.
