Scotland Public Library trustees forward 2025–26 budget to town meeting after grant boosts trust account

The Scotland Public Library Board accepted the April financial report and voted to forward the proposed 2025–26 budget to the June town meeting for a final vote.
Treasurer Angela Maschka presented the financial report and told trustees the library’s trust account has increased after the library received a state library incentive grant. On a motion by Beth Delaney, seconded by Brenda Gagnon, the board voted to accept the treasurer’s report.
The board approved the proposed budget for 2025–26 during unfinished business and will present it at the town meeting in June, where town voters will decide whether to adopt it. No members of the public attended the May 13 meeting.
The budget move sends spending and staffing plans to the town’s broader decision-making process; trustees said they will monitor implementation and follow town procedures for any changes to appropriations.
