At its Sept. 15 meeting, the Altoona City Council approved a consent agenda that bundled routine and substantive administrative items, including several large construction pay applications and scheduling of public hearings.
Notable consent items included Change Order #01 for Hansen Company on the Altoona Public Works Facility for $163,826.41 and Pay App #4 to Hansen Company for $1,434,983.55. The council also approved Pay App #3 to Sternquist Construction for the 9th Street NE Reconstruction Project—Phase 2B Rise in the amount of $285,195.22. The consent agenda set a public hearing for Oct. 6 to consider an approximately 960-acre 80/20 annexation east of the current Altoona boundary and set other hearings including an easement payment consideration for Mid-American in Greenway Park and a water-tank painting project hearing on Oct. 6.
The council approved a resolution authorizing application sponsorship for the IEDA HQJ Program and adopted a resolution accepting public improvements for the 2025 Water Main Replacement Project. A Super Stop Class E retail alcohol license was approved as part of the consent agenda. Roll-call votes on consent items are recorded in the meeting record as 4-0 where shown.
