Altoona awards Adventureland Drive water-tank painting contract to low bidder for $155,700

The Altoona City Council on Oct. 6 approved plans, specifications and the contract for the Adventureland Drive water-storage tank painting project and made an award to the apparent low bidder.
Public Utilities Director Dan Scott reported the city received bids on Sept. 30, 2025, and that Viking Industrial Painting had submitted the lowest bid at $155,700. Scott said the design engineer recommended awarding the contract to Viking Industrial Painting. No members of the public spoke at the hearing.
Councilmember Mertz moved to approve the plans and contract subject to legal review; subsequent related resolutions to approve the contract and bond and to make the award were approved by roll call (Boka, Duer, Evans, Mertz and Stewart voting yes).
