Poway Unified board appoints Oak Valley principal and approves multiple settlements and resignations

The Poway Unified School District Board of Education on Jan. 22 appointed Camille Dixon as principal of Oak Valley Middle School and approved a series of settlement agreements and personnel releases following closed-session deliberations.
Clerk Dougherty reported that the board appointed Camille Dixon “on a motion by board member Cooverrett, and a second by board member Plotsky,” and that “the vote was unanimous.” The clerk then read a sequence of settlement approvals across several case numbers (including ADR 1210-2025 and ADR 1211-2025 and multiple OAH matters) and reported each had been approved unanimously following motions and seconds as announced in closed session.
Dougherty also said the board approved two release/resignation agreements under the government-code provisions cited during the report-out. Both agreements list resignations effective at the close of business on June 30, 2026, and include employee numbers 438404 and 636968; the clerk said those votes were unanimous.
The board’s public report named movers and seconders for the motions but recorded outcomes in brief: appointments and settlement agreements approved, and two personnel release/resignation agreements accepted. No dissenting votes were reported during the closed-session report-out.
The board adjourned closed session at 5:55 p.m. and resumed the public meeting to continue the agenda.
