The Marysville Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees on Nov. 18 approved applications to the state’s Career Technical Education Facilities Program (CTEFP) to build new HVAC and electrical training pathways at Lyndhurst and Marysville high schools.
Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Bob Eckhart told trustees the district will submit a $6,000,000 request for an HVAC facility at Lyndhurst High School — $3,000,000 from the state and a required $3,000,000 local match — to create an approximately 8,000-square-foot lab and classroom space for hands-on HVAC training. “So this $6,000,000 grant that we are asking for, 3,000,000 would be the state… We have to match it with 3,000,000,” Eckhart said.
Eckhart said the HVAC pathway would aim to serve roughly 125 students annually at full scale across a four-year concentrator-to-capstone sequence and that graduates would earn industry-related credentials…
