Three students from Gidley School presented to the board on March 9 about recent enrichment opportunities and gave a brief musical preview.
Manuel Marquez, a seventh grader and ASB vice president, said about 14 students from Gidley attended a Hippocrates Circle program at Keck/USC on March 7 that included a two‑hour lecture, a panel Q&A with medical students and a pig heart dissection. He described the program as inclusive and useful for students interested in medical careers.
Mackenzie Lopena and Genesis Martinez delivered a short performance of the Jitterbug from Wizard of Oz as a preview of the school production; the board was invited to attend performances March 26 at 6 p.m. and March 27 at 9 a.m.
Board members thanked the students and encouraged community attendance at district arts events.
